It is not a scientific discourse on space and its celestial bodies. It is about the space that everybody requires whether a new born or a decrepit person or each of other age groups falling between the two here on this earth. When we speak of such space it may evoke different solid extents varying in shapes and in closed forms with demarcated boundary lines or unbound and sprawling ones ending in horizon. But space other than denoting an area or ambit also connotes the concept of one’s prerogatives or freedom and that connotation of space is the focal point of today’s write-up.
We are all endowed with different tracts or spaces, be at home or in the outside world to be within. It may be a well equipped room to be owned individually or to be shared with others at home. Space at work sector may be generous providing individual chamber with all the amenities to each of the officials or may turn out to be prudent accommodating more than one official in each room. But the question often arises whether owning a specific geographical space or an area really generates happiness if it is not accompanied with one’s freedom or rights to be exercised there? A well furnished luxury room at home loses its entire splendour if its occupant is robbed of all their prerogatives and is destined to lead the life of a puppet in others’ hands. Likewise owning a single spacious and plush room at work place becomes more confined and throttling if the official there has to work under every dictate of the superior without being given the right to exercise their freedom in work. Such spaces whether at home or outside are always deprived of the blessings to envision growth of their occupants and have the dismal ambience of being only governed with the interests of few autocrats.
Hence, whenever a space or area is allotted to a person, it should be accommodative of the freedom of the person to be exercised there. The space without the freedom of its owner turns out to be a graveyard because all the requisites to turn life into a vivacious one undergo death there. Such as, creativity that gives birth to the trait of life in being lively unfurling its growth in every direction dies a miserable death there. The space without freedom for its person turns out to be a parched tract that can never witness felicity’s shower upon it. But it should also be borne in mind that space will lose all its worth if its holder fails to be within the frontiers of the prerogatives that it grants. One, while availing a space should always be conscious not to trample on and cross beyond the limits that the space sets for its rights, to be enjoyed by its possessor. It is certain that any action reverse to that will entail misery. Such as, an official’s going out of their space and meddling with every affair of the others in work sector is sure to give rise to the tumult of clash.
Humans, being social animals are caught into the web of various sorts of relationships and are obliged to upkeep them. It is often said that every relationship has its space. But that space does not signify any geographical demarcation rather it suggests some specific rules and regulations of each relationship for the individual to be governed by while being in it. Each relationship has its own set of norms and adherence to them creates the space or boundary lines for the relationship. Flouting those norms means to traverse the borderline of the relationship and that may often precipitate into infringing or breaking into other relationships because each relationship is entangled with multiple other relationships.
Therefore, individuals’ having regard to each other’s space or prerogatives or freedom whether at home or in the outside world has the power to see life in full bloom with all its growth and prosperity and to bubble bright with lots of happiness. Apart from that, life teems with varied relationships and the efforts undertaken to be within the norms or space of each relationship has the ability to sustain them for good.
