The fifth floor and the nimble feet,
Sparkling lights and resonating shoes,
Barbeque tables and smoky veggies and non-veggies,
Dishes float around with swift and smooth hands,
Snapping and crunching seasoned with prattles and pranks,
The white cake with blinking cherry at the top,
Sliced down to blast the blazing birthday,
Glasses clink with fizz and flush,
Gorging on sumptuous food,
And shoving in the bin a mound of it too,
The persistent and piercing thread of music,
Darting down the grey edifice,
Hitches up the eyelids of young and withered faces,
On the chilly and malicious pavement,
With hunger nibbling their deep down stomachs.
